Subscription Terms

These terms describe how ZERA Membership billing works. They supplement our general Terms of Service.
Free to Download, Free to Try
The ZERA app is free to download and free to create an account. Every new account starts with a 7-day free trial of full access, automatically, with no payment method required. The Learn section remains free indefinitely, whether or not you subscribe.
Membership Pricing & Billing
ZERA Membership is $9.99/month, billed through Stripe on the ZERA website — not through the Apple App Store or Google Play. If you subscribe before your 7-day trial ends, billing does not begin until your original trial period is up. Your subscription renews automatically each month until canceled.
Managing or Canceling
You can manage your payment method, view invoices, or cancel at any time from your ZERA account on the website (Account → Manage Subscription), which opens Stripe’s secure billing portal. There is no dark pattern, phone call, or support ticket required to cancel.
What Happens When You Cancel or a Payment Fails
Full membership access (the Allocate calculator) requires an active trial or an active paid subscription. If your subscription is canceled, or a payment fails and your subscription enters a past-due state, Allocate access is paused until the subscription becomes active again. Your account, allocation history, and Garden/Orchard progress are not deleted — Learn remains available regardless of subscription status.
Referral Program Interaction
If you participate in ZERA Orchard as a referrer, a lapsed subscription also affects your referral commission eligibility — see our Referral Program Terms for the 30-day grace period and forfeiture rules, which are separate from feature access above.
Price Changes
We will provide reasonable notice before any change to membership pricing takes effect for existing subscribers.
